Lying in the heart of China and forming a part of the middle basin of the Yangtze River, Hubei Province has always been an important spot in the development and transportation system of China throughout history.

In addition to its important geographical location, the natural scenery of Hubei is also a valuable asset to China. Located in the Shennongjia Forestry District and Badong County in Hubei, Hubei Shennongjia was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2016 as it preserves the largest primary forests, various endemic plant species and numerous rare and endangered animals in Central China.
