As a literary form, couplets can be long or short—from a few words to dozens of lines—and are a convenient way to express thoughts. Originating from parallel prose and regulated verse, they also absorb patterns from ancient poetry, prose and lyrics, inheriting classical charm. As cultural decorations, they subtly capture scenes with simple, refined words, bringing delight.

In the auspicious Year of Bingwu (Horse Year), our museum hosts the "Couplet Calligraphy Exhibition" themed "Galloping Horse in Spring Breeze". The horse symbolizes unceasing progress; the spring breeze signifies renewal. The exhibition embodies the vigorous spirit of striving for dreams and the hope of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new in the transition from Yisi to Bingwu Year.

Mainly from the museum’s collection, the works are rich, concise and excellent in both content and art—covering personal moods, seasonal reflections, natural beauty and people’s happy life. This exhibition brings a visual feast for both Chinese calligraphy enthusiasts and those who want to learn about it, offering an easy and fascinating way to explore Chinese traditional culture through these exquisite couplet works.

"Even a few words convey the world’s flavors; a master’s brush records life’s emotions." Our wish for blessings remains unchanged. May this exhibition, spanning Yisi and Bingwu Years, be like a "spring breeze and galloping horse", carrying cultural memories and the spirit of the times into the new year toward a prosperous future.
