Taiping Bridge
Taiping Bridge located in Chetian Village, Cheyang Town, Longnan County, Jiangxi Province, Taiping Bridge spans the Taiping River in a scenic valley. It was built in the Ming Dynasty.
Taiping Bridge is a double-arch stone bridge with a length of 50 meters, a width of 4 meters, and a height of 17 meters. The spans of the two arches are 11.9 meters and 12.9 meters respectively, and the height of the arch bridge is 6.2 meters. In the middle of the bridge stands a large-span arched bridge pavilion made of bricks and stones, measuring 30 meters in length, 10 meters in height, and with a span of 8.4 meters.
The top of the bridge pavilion features three pairs of upturned eaves with tiles in cyan color. Above the archway of the bridge pavilion, the three big characters "Taiping Bridge" are inscribed. From a distance, Taiping Bridge resembles the shape of the Chinese character "Pin(品)", which is both stable and aesthetic, resembling two rainbows. It embodies the typical Hakka architectural style of southern Jiangxi and is a rare treasure among ancient masonry arch bridges. Taiping Bridge was designated as a key cultural relic protection site in Longnan County, Jiangxi Province, in 1983.
