2025 Beijing International Cultural and Tourism Consumption Expo Opens with International Exhibitors Doubled
The 2025 Beijing International Cultural and Tourism Consumption Expo officially opened today at Beijing Exhibition Center. Running from June 20 to 22 under the theme "Cultural Tourism for Better Life," the expo covers an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, spanning the entire cultural tourism industry chain to promote integrated development of culture, commerce, tourism, sports and exhibitions, and facilitate resonance between cultural tourism industry and consumption.
The expo features eight themed exhibition areas: Global Exchange, Beautiful China, Charming Beijing, City Gifts, Digital Tourism, Tourism Resources, Tourism Equipment, and Cultural-tourism Integration, comprehensively showcasing new products, scenarios, demands and experiences in the cultural tourism industry.
According to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, over 10% of exhibits are making their debut, with multiple cultural creative products launching on-site and several humanoid robots appearing for the first time at the expo. The event has innovated its format, upgrading from static display to dynamic storytelling. Diverse interactive experiences including stamp collection, AR/VR experiences, puppet interactions, intangible cultural heritage activities and cultural creative DIYs will provide immersive visiting experiences.
Compared with previous editions, this year's expo has further expanded its scope, with the number of exhibitors increasing by 30% to 500. International exhibitors have doubled, covering 20 countries and regions, attracting tourism departments and institutions from Russia, the Philippines, Japan, Dubai, Czech Republic and other countries, along with 39 international exhibitors from the United States, South Korea, Cuba and elsewhere.
The expo emphasizes two-way empowerment through "cultural tourism+" and "+cultural tourism," creating an ecosystem of "cultural tourism resource integration and consumption scenario innovation." During the event, multiple professional conferences and activities will be held, including the 2025 Beijing Digital Intelligent Cultural Tourism Consumption Innovation Conference and the 2025 Beijing Cultural Tourism Consumption Assistance Promotion Campaign. The first batch of the 2025 "Cultural Tourism Assistance - Selected Quality Products" brand list will be released. A three-day negotiation meeting between Beijing hotels and travel agencies from outside Beijing and overseas will also be held.
Regarding influence, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism noted that in addition to internationalization, the expo features participation from 26 cities across 11 provinces and autonomous regions, with all 16 districts of Beijing and the Economic-Technological Development Area making full appearances. Twenty-one leading cultural tourism enterprises and over 80 cultural and museum creative units are participating, covering sectors including scenic areas, travel agencies, museums, performances, hotels and homestays, cuisine, cultural creativity, winter sports and events to promote cross-industry collaborative development.
Furthermore, Beijing Cultural Tourism will sign the Beijing Cultural Tourism Consumption Financial Service Action Plan with Bank of Beijing, while ICBC will showcase innovative financial service models and introduce a series of financial benefit measures for cultural tourism consumption.
