2026 Pengzhou Song Dynasty Style Kite Festival

The 2026 Pengzhou Song Dynasty Style Kite Festival will kick off from April 10 to 12 at the Aoping Town Kite Square, offering a perfect spring getaway that beautifully blends millennium-old Song charm, intangible cultural heritage, and pastoral fun.

Visitors can time-travel to a recreated Song Dynasty market, using ancient "Jiaozi" currency to trade goods and taste local teas. The event features spectacular traditional kite-flying performances, DIY workshops for painting exclusive kites, and even a romantic matchmaking corner under the beautiful spring sky.

As the hometown of Chuanxiong (Sichuan lovage), the festival also hosts a special herbal market where guests can taste fresh local products and experience farming. Coupled with an array of traditional performances, including Sichuan Opera face-changing and martial arts, this vibrant celebration brings history and spring vitality to life.
