The Sea

"What's truly vast isn't the sea, but the openness to understand each other and the world."

Chris Pereira, founder and CEO of iMpact, studied Chinese language and literature at Zhengzhou University for four years. Back then, he loved Cao Cao's "The Sea." Today, as he helps Chinese businesses go global, he sees the poem in a new light. Nearly 2,000 years ago, Cao Cao stood by the ocean and saw not just water, but a wider world beyond it. For Chris, that vision echoes in the work of crossing seas, connecting countries, cultures, and people — reminding us that true vastness lies in our willingness to understand one another.
