30 Years of Joint Archaeology: Inclusive Cooperation, Unlimited Prospects

Twenty-six years ago, Wang Fen joined the China-US joint archaeological team as a young female archaeologist. She faced tough conditions in the field, gender stereotypes, and cultural barriers, but she never backed down. In her view, the challenges of archaeology are the same for everyone, regardless of gender or age.

What truly matters is the thrill of discovery and the deep sense of accomplishment that comes with every excavation. That passion and curiosity kept her going, and she has remained in the field ever since, witnessing every step of the China-US archaeological collaboration along the way.
