Solar Terms Wellness: Major Cold

Author:Fantastic China  | 2026-01-20 | Views:2

Major Cold is the last solar term of the lunar calendar, marking the end of winter and the subtle return of spring. As this period approaches, people traditionally engage in thorough cleaning, prepare preserved dishes, and stock up for the Chinese New Year. Amid the festive feasting, one can sense the natural shift toward renewal. This is also a time to harmonize the body and mind with the seasonal transition.

Health Tips

During this busy season, reduced physical activity and frequent exposure to both heated indoor environments and cold outdoor temperatures can weaken immunity. Crowded public spaces also increase the risk of exposure to viruses, leading to common winter ailments such as colds, internal heat, dry cough, or constipation.
