Taste Shanghai Cuisine at scholarly Dianshizhai Xiaoyan Restaurant
Housed in a European-style building, Dianshizhai Xiaoyan restaurant specializes in Shanghai cuisine. Before entering the restaurant, its unique scholarly sytle is already apparent. The interior design is also elegant. The wallpaper and curtains are printed with lightcolored exquisite patterns, demonstrating the elegance of old Shanghai. Calligraphy, paintings and jade ornaments create a poetic atmosphere, while traditional rosewood furniture adds retro flavor.
Generally, the dishes feature delicate taste and are suited for a small group to enjoy. Signature dishes include tofu with crab sauce, native chicken soup, glutinous rice cake and stir-fried eel with hot oil. The restaurant is ideal for five to six persons eating together.
