Pottery Storyteller Beating a Drum: life-long singing
Half-moon eyes, a beaming smile and cherry cheeks, that’s my lovely face. I am known as a storytelling figurine. Though having no name, I am a big star as hundreds of people would come to the national museum to watch my show. Coming from the Sichuan Basin during the Eastern Han Dynasty, I am bringing the show to its climax with a drum in my left hand and a stick in my right. My head is stretching forward, my back is drawn into a bow, and my legs are stretched and lifted high, showing the wide, flat soles of my feet. Because now, I’m about to exert all my energy to entertain the audience.
