Li Haoyang, with a good appearance and unique design works, successfully entered the final of the "Ganmo Aniu Pageant". However, due to the busy class schedule at Tsinghua University, Li decided to withdraw from the competition after careful consideration.

Li Haoyang is a native of Leshan and grew up in a Yi-Han family. Infused by her family's culture, she is very passionate about Yi culture and has her own unique point of view. She hopes to use her professional knowledge to give a voice to Yi culture through art and design, so that more people can appreciate and enjoy the beauty of Yi culture.

Inspired by this desire, Li Haoyang successfully submitted her graduation work "Spirit of Yi ", which incorporated the elements of “Ganmo Aniu” in June this year. The work was selected as an excellent graduation design by Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and Li was successfully guaranteed to study in the Department of Visual Communication.

In this work, Li created 18 personalized images of the Yi deities by combining elements of traditional decorative art of the Yi people living in this area, such as patterns, costumes and Yi characters. While preserving the traditional cultural elements, Li also expresses them through a modern aesthetic style, successfully combining tradition with modernity, individuality with commonality, and nationality with the world.

In October this year, after learning about the "Ganmo Aniu Pageant", Li actively took part in the contest. She hopes to let people appreciate the combination of the decorative beauty and spiritual culture of Yi culture, and to experience the interweaving of traditional Yi culture and modern young aesthetics through this contest. More importantly, she also wants to bring some inspiration and encouragement for the heritage, innovation, and dissemination of Yi culture.

On November 14, after learning that she had made it to the final, Li Haoyang was very excited and immediately planned her trip. Unfortunately, the timing of the competition overlapped with her academic schedule, and after much agitation, she decided to withdraw from the competition.

"The choice to go forward is to prepare for better return." Li Haoyang said that although she could not go to the final site, her hometown would be her lifelong library of creative inspiration, and she would do her best for its development. Next, she will try to create a more systematic and complete Yi cultural IP, so that Yi culture can enter the vision of the young public, thus contributing to the inheritance and development of it.
