On the evening of July 17, the 15th China Children's Theater Festival opened at the Xiuhu Concert Hall of the Jiaxing Culture and Art Center in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. This marked a historic milestone—the first time since the festival's inception in 2011 that its main venue and opening ceremony have been held outside Beijing, delivering top-tier national theater resources directly to local communities.

At the opening ceremony, young students took the stage to perform Xiushui Yangyang (The Vast Waters). Artists and actor representatives presented "Public Welfare Little Ambassadors" certificates to children on site, and distinguished guests jointly lit the themed light installation "Canal Heritage · Watery Jiangnan." Following the ceremony, the fairy-tale musical The Nightingale, produced and performed by the China National Theater for Children, took the stage.

Running through the end of August, the festival will feature 39 productions by 25 children's theatre companies from four different countries, delivering 181 performances to create a widely accessible and celebrated theatrical feast for families.
