The 2026 Goldfish Exhibition brings summer elegance to the ancient courtyards of Prince Kung's Palace Museum in central Beijing, where more than 20 traditional goldfish varieties swim alongside intangible cultural heritage artworks including woodblock prints, paper-cuts, lanterns, kites, and embroidery.

The exhibition recreates the poetic atmosphere of classical garden fish appreciation through five themed sections, featuring "Viewing Goldfish in Wooden Tubs" displays paired with diverse folk art forms, a large landscape installation with goldfish lanterns under a wisteria trellis, and a cultural experience area where visitors can try traditional crafts such as fan painting, kite decoration, and clay modeling.

With lotus plants and traditional Chinese design elements integrated throughout the space, the event highlights the enduring appeal of Chinese goldfish culture—a tradition shaped by aesthetics, ingenuity, and a refined appreciation of everyday life.
