“Strings Over Zheng’an: Johannes Möller’s Eight Years” | A Learning Journey: Season 4

Swedish classical guitarist Johannes Möller first came to Zheng’an, Guizhou, drawn by its thriving guitar industry. Eight years later, he teaches young musicians, works with local guitar makers, and calls this small county in southwest China home.

His journey has also taken him deeper into Guizhou’s musical traditions. From Miao lusheng and Dong Grand Song to Gelao melodies, Möller listens, studies and brings these sounds into his own compositions. Through classical guitar, albums and performances abroad, he continues to explore new ways for musical traditions from different cultures to meet and inspire one another.
